Quite a belter of a tune.
Perhaps the Eydie Gorme expert to ask is BBC Radio 2's Russell Davies.

I doubt that Arthur Godfrey's was the original version, probably doing music hall rounds before 1948.

Whyperion SUBS 23rd Dec 2013 | | 78 RPMThe Empire Orchestra - The Gaby Glide / Rum Tum Tiddle (1913) | Was playing outwards (a) a means of avoiding Berliner patents? (on discs and reproducers) - I understand that synchronised discs on early 'talking movies' also played outwards ,was this due to Pathe having used that method for audio discs and their association with film newsreels and so on?

Whyperion SUBS 23rd Dec 2013 | | 78 RPMThe B.B.C. Symphony Orchestra - The Planets Suite, Op. 32. Records 10, 11. (1945) | Is The Planets Suite, Op. 32. Records 10, 11. the best way to add record title , happy to go along with that for some that I have added , previously I have gone on Track Title No.10, etc,
Parts 1 & 2 can be correct in some cases , but here it is conclusion rather than part 2 , VI is a further complication on the entire suite, thanks Gustav.

Whyperion SUBS 30th Aug 2013 | | 78 RPMChoral À Coeur Joie - Marjolaine Strasbourg | I think we will have to check Wiki, as the UK children's toy ( hold up to light and the opaque covering over shifting small coloured pieces with internal mirrors ) seems different to the use here , polished metal or mirrored glass external , either revolves with the record or the record revolves around it ?

Whyperion SUBS 11th Jul 2013 | | 78 RPMChitalkar And Meena Kapur - Hindustani Film Track | I have adjusted the tint on one of my master scans , using Microsoft Photo Gallery ( gave different results to paint.net ) , and in making the gold go green , surround lettering gives Record Manufactured by THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD , and which I read as Duer (?) Dehli .(?) - the white wear circles cuts through the final two words. Discogs notes (mostly from Wikipedia , but adds : From 1928 onwards the company also operated a record, cassette and CD manufacturing plant: Dum Dum India. (apparently thats near Calcutta ).
The Gramophone Co Ltd of India going through a number of legal changes - I think from 1901 to Indian Independence it operated as a Branch of the UK company , with The Gramophone Co. (India) Limited incorporated in August 1946 in India. Unless old labels were used up for convience this would date this to pre 1946 , depends when Shehnai / Shehnar was made. (1947) And interpolates nicely in the part listing at http://discog.piezoelektric.org/hmvindia/index.php?prefix=N , where it appears to fall after 1944.
So , the film is reported as 1947, so label typesetting not significantly changed after 1946.
