Roy Brown - Let The Four Winds Blow / Diddy-Y-Diddy-O (1957)
Video , is showing a 45usa release , sorry. A little bit too treble ranged for my liking of this tune.

Chuck Berry - Maybellene / Wee Wee Hours (1955)
Just watching BBC4 'The Kings Of Rock ' n ' Roll' , and its got to Chuck Berry , looking up what we have so far ( limited ) the early Chess Records 78s are on the label , in the notes here , as Chuck Berry and His Combo. Seeing as I understand Chuck (alone ?) went into Chess , saying Muddy Waters sent him , the Combo I guessed was in this instance the house band. I understand Leonard Chess added Bass Player and Maracas ( Wikipedia ), the Wikipedia page also mentions these were added to 'the Trio' , which looking up Johnnie (Clyde) Johnson was Johnnie Johnson on Piano and and Ebby Hardy on Drums, the three performed as The Sir John Trio in live clubs. Berry having replaced saxophonist Alvin Bennett (Due to Bennett's Stroke) on New Year's Eve , 1952

Johnnie Johnson's recollections of the naming of "Maybellene" and those of Marshall Chess reported in the above program differ slightly.

Wee Wee Hours was an instrumental that Johnson had been playing for some years , Berry added lyrics to it for the recording session.

Possibly the DPI they were scanned at or size commpressed to , maybe now expanded , but most UK Londons have a black edge to the silver part , see https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/hl8764 , maybe just cut the circle too tight.

Louis Jordan And His Tympany Five - Ration Blues / Is You Is Or Is You Ain't (Ma' Baby) (1944)

A Louis Jordan Version from the 1944 Movie Follow The Boys.

Louis seemed to re-cut and broadcast slightly differing versions of his tunes over the years.

From Solid Serenade, 31 August 1946 musical supervision by Scott Bradley.
T&J Sounds a little like Cab Calloway , but could have been an in house MGM Orchestra/ Band.

Quimby/ MGM Tom and Jerry's are total classics , much missed off the 10min infills on BBC telly , the quality ( the intenals of Jerry's home , hand-drawn just wonderful in colour) (I only had a black and white telly) , humour , music (Oscar Winning) .

Added 1944 As year of release , fits other Brunswick releases on cat number and fits with movie release.

Another clip from the start of film , showing the background music for start.

Peter Lind Hayes - Life Gets Tee-Jus, Don't It? / That Certain Party (1949)
Already I have mention on Brunswick 1080 (His Old Cornet) from 1930 the composer's use of ' The Cows Went Dry and the Hens Wouldn't Lay ' in a song ?, - reprised in a slightly different tempo by Carson Robison for Peter Lind Hayes' 1948 Life Gets Tee-Jus, Don't It?

Jack Hylton's Kit-Cat Band - Dreaming The Waltz Away / While The Years Go Drifting By (1926)
Copyright in a film expires 70 years after the end of the year in which the death occurs of the last to survive of the principal director, the authors of the screenplay and dialogue, and the composer of any music specially created for the film.

In other words by the time they are dead , so , generally , is anyone whom might have a passing interest in the subject , etc. Even if out of copyright it does not stop anyone charging for a copy of any original or otherwise they may have in their possession or on their website.

However , Copyright in a broadcast expires 50 years from the end of the year of making of the broadcast. Which is interesting as some Pathe newsreels were shown in theatres as relay cable broadcasts using the Baird and similar systems in the late 1940s. I am not certain if newsreels are classed as films ( which one thinks of as 'entertainment' ) or not , the statue does not make clear , requiring a knowledge of legal judgements.

HMV Gold on Red nearly invisible at best of times , in Indian Writing ( which I dont have keyboard for ) even more so. If anyone can correct and check composer credits etc that would be good.

New Light Symphony Orchestra - Barcarolle (1926)
I don't think my labels are really quite that red , more closer to the maroon, but my barcarolle label is the larger on my disc. I think it ranges from label size as random to often trying to balance the runoff area proportion to same amount , so depends on track length rather than A/B considerations

Barrel Organ - Waltz Song, From A Waltz Dream / Red Roses, From The Man With Three Wives (1909)
Somehow I doubt this actual disk dates from 1909, more likely late 1920s or early 1930s , must have been on catalogue for some years.

Mum tells me once a week at the Lamp Factory (in the later stages of war and after ) , they could bring in their own records , and a person would be designated weekly to change the disc after each play. I think the rest of the time they had the radio on.

Checking other Vogue Coral ( the Coral USA issues have names separated by - ) . labels on 45cat , the typesetting is the same , but generally they use , between twin composer credits but used a ; on another record one in Sept 1957 , so it might just have been how they read it in the typesetting department , spooky though.

At a guess because Allison, Holly wrote the song/s , Petty at best 'arranged' , I suppose code that the writing credits Norman Petty claimed on his signed acts ( for more royalties ) were dubious.

Just broken my copy , moved some others for scanning ( I have too many spaces in the upright storage unit temporily and they fell over breaking one segment out) , Its only lasted 64 years of house moves and plays , I have a poor tape copy of the audio so not totally lost , but I would not mind another one.

It could be a Buckingham Code ( fits with the H on Teresa Brewer ) , but why the other labels dont have it is more of a mystery , but maybe it is supossed to be a W , just cos it does not look like one as we may think , the person feeding the stamper might have picked up the wrong letter punch as it would be in reverse ? or mis read the typists notes for the change of tax code. Possibly too an older stamper brought into use with the popularity of the track sending the demand higher than anticipated ?
