annaloog ● 5th Apr 2023		Book Various Authors - Cunk On Everything (2019)	Pen names don't have the same status as 'real' authors, and cannot be edited/corrected. Philomena Cunk has been entered as a pen name for "Various Authors". If requested, this can be deleted, and added back as a pen name for one of the listed authors. It might be necessary to select one as the main author and the other three as co-authors, in order to show the pen name.

I have a dozen or so 1990s/early 2000s paperbacks with competing bar code numbers ... the inside cover is difficult to scan satisfactorily (without damaging the binding). I have added the back cover bar code no. to Notes.

This was a change from earlier bar code formatting which did reserve the rightmost 5 digits for the book no.

annaloog ● 25th Mar 2023		Book John Barth - The Sot-Weed Factor (1964)	An interesting novel (mostly) about colonial Maryland and Chesapeake Bay area, with mention (as I recall) of a number of place names in the Eastern shore. "Sot-weed" is a reference to tobacco, the cash crop at the time. I no longer have my HB copy (passed it on some dozen or more years ago), so couldn't say whether it was this edition. Now I'm reminded, though, I'll have to hunt down my other Barth books.

annaloog ● 6th Feb 2023		Book Poker According To Maverick - Dell First Edition (1959)	1st Dell printing, Oct 1959 2nd printing, Dec 1959 I have added images of the title page and detail of the copyright / publishing page for the 2nd printing (I have had to tweak these a bit to minimize curvature and perspective). There are several variations of the back cover, some showing advertisements for Jeep or Kaiser Aluminum. The royal flush design may be the earliest.

Not bad for a first (solo) novel, kept my interest (when I finally got round to reading it), though I figured before the end which decision Richard would make. There is some nifty wordplay on various London placenames; the Underground map is included on purpose.
annaloog ● 27th Jan 2023		Book David McDaniel - The Arsenal Out Of Time (1967)	JAG, but I gather that when Ace began its transition from letter-prefixed numbers to 5-digit numbers, the G prefix was replaced with '07' (G is the 7th letter of the alphabet). I have copies of a few Vance and Farmer titles with these G-/'020' numbers.

Presumably, the 8th - 13th printings also have these same properties.
