ppint. 22nd Sep 2019		CD Album Various Artists - Strangely Strange But Oddly Normal (2009)	thank-you for doing the work of the full listing, and scanning the whole insert booklet^W *tome* - this is quite an impressive sampler of what this ppint.'d call "our island story" - the nearly five year period when just about everything released by the musical mob chris blackwell & co. (including david betteridge, guy stevens, joe boyd, etc.)'d assembled/provided the near-ideal circumstances and setting to nourish was worth at least two or three listens - and so incredibly often were "keepers" - if your purse/pockets were deep enough... ...this should've been six cds long of course - at least. . .

ppint. 10th Sep 2019		CD Album Helen Shapiro - The Very Best Of Helen Shapiro (2005)	error in track 2.11 composer credit is as per insert booklet listing, but equally clearly wrong. motown records' berry gordy junior's habitual form of name in credits is "berry gordy, jnr." 12pp. full colour-printed insert booklet includes full-page repros of the front covers of columbia's "helen hits out", "a teenager sings the blues", and "more hits from helen", plus thumbnails of "helen", "even more hits from helen", and three more unreff'ed full-page photos as well as "sleeve notes" by dave mcaleer (guinness book of british hit singles & albums)
ppint. 7th Sep 2019		CD Album Various Artists - Rock ‘n’ Roll Classics (1997)	licenced from k-tel entertainment (uk) ltd pegasus is a division of eagle rock entertainment plc made in germany admittedly it incorporates the title of the first track, and some of these are undoubtedly classics, but rock'n'roll they aren't all by any means , let alone "raunchy": and pat boone's rendition of " ain't that a shame" is a travesty of fats domino's original. but this was still a good buy, especially for in-car listening - it helps keeps the passengers entertained - as well as the driver awake, has been known to encourage sing-along-with sessions, and helps eliminate whinging enquiries of "are we there yet?"
ppint. 1st Aug 2019		CD Album Kevin Ayers - Original Album Series (2014)	philmh: *nods; but though legally perhaps correct, in the sense you mean, it is productive of chronoclasms and* lies, such as asserting that a recording (or a book) was originally published and copyrighted by an entity that did not exist for another few decades - half century - potentially centuries, thanks to the mouse - and confuses and muddies waters, tracks and history. . . - "eheu, marcus!" (anyway, i've sent in a correction of my erroneous © to a (p) or, if possible, a p-in-a-circle which tablettything doesn't (p)ossess)

ppint. 30th Jun 2019		CD Album Björk Guðmundsdóttir And Trió Guðmundar Ingólfssonar - Gling-Gló (1990)	thank-you - a trifle belatedly - greg45: icelandic not being one of the norse (nor scandawegian) tongues yr hmbl srppnt. has (as-yet) acquired, this ppint. made as much sense out of a couple (or prile) of copies as i could, noting what stayed constant - or seemed to. . . (i like björk rather a lot in small doses, and've liked her spoken/self-dramatised appearances a lot - more reliably than her recordings, though not necessarily more than those of hers i've liked best. i'm definitely glad of having heard - most - of them, and shouldn't've preferred her suppressed (like the dormouse in ''alice'') some 'catters seem to suggest'd've been better.)
