sladesounds 27th Jun 2017		CD Album The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (1990)	Added a further European variation of this release. The artwork shows the sub UK cat# of CZ 311 however the main cat# and barcode remains the same. The disc is mark "Made in Holland". As far as I can remember this was bought in Winchester on it's UK release in 1990.
sladesounds 25th Jun 2017		CD Album Dwight Yoakam - Last Chance For A Thousand Years: Dwight Yoakam's Greatest Hits From The 90's (1999)	The copy in my collection has identical artwork etc. however it is stamped "For promotional use only..." and has a sticker on the front of the CD jewel case with "Dwight Yoakam Greatest Hits - 14 Songs including 3 New Recordings" and the cat# 2-47389(#1). The alternate cat# does not appear anywhere else on the disc or artwork.

sladesounds 5th Jun 2017		CD Album Donny Hathaway - Someday We'll All Be Free (2010)	Take your pick on the label for this box set. Although the discs show an Atlantic design I think that they are more for artistic presentation rather than the parent/issuing label. The cover spine gives Warner Music France, the back give Rhino, Atlantic, Warner Music France, WEA, the discs although sporting an Atlantic design, Rhino features in the small print. Given Rhino is the catalogue division of the Warner Music Group for archive releases I have gone with that as the primary label (for now!)

The album as Greg rightly points out was released internationally however with variations of cat#'s, track order, etc.it warrants separate entries in our database. Changed this release to Europe.
sladesounds 10th Apr 2017		CD Album David Bowie - Never Let Me Down (1987)	My copy, scans here, obviously doesn't have a barcode printed on the tray or show evidence of a sticker on the jewel case. A little more research on the web shows the long box of this issue to have a slightly changed cat#. I have therefore taken the barcode off until we can can confirm with images that this disc was issued with a barcode #. I expect a copy will turn up at sometime with a barcode sticker attached.

sladesounds 14th Nov 2016		CD Album Ultravox - Vienna	Lee/Greg - regarding the linking of releases I have lifted this from 45cat where the option was first introduced: It's now possible to link records which are regarded as being the same release. We see this being used for when a record is released in different countries, where a record is issued in different formats, or for where a record is reissued with identical tracks. By linking the records you get to see all the issues on one page. ........Finally, remember that records should only be linked if they are regarded as being different issues of the same release! So I would say that each time an album is released, even with a slight variation of (bonus) tracks then they can be linked.

sladesounds 2nd Oct 2016		CD Album Elvis Presley - Platinum (1997)	Review This collection of music from Elvis was released just before the 20th anniversary of his death. Although the set comprises of lots of alternate takes, live recordings and rehearsal output this collection is not just for the die-hard Elvis fans. The recordings cover his full career from the early 50s through to outtakes from his final recordings. Unlike some box sets that feature rough demos and studio outtakes this entire collection (IMHO) is a delight to listen to and if you are looking as a first time Elvis buyer to add something to your collection this set is as good, if not better, than many of the "Greatest Hits/Best of" compilations that have surfaced over the last 40 years since his death. 5 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
