personally I'd like to see a country of manufacture field and a separate country of release field
a lot of UK only CD singles have been pressed in various European plants over the years - the main ones seem to be Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria and even Switzerland
Even the sleeves/labels can be misleading by saying made in the EU, when if you look at the actual disc they give the actual name of the pressing plant - only today I spotted one of these in this website, it's been put in the EU section as it says "Made In The EU" on the case insert, but the disc clearly says "EMI Uden" - which is in the Netherlands, yet the disc was produced exclusively for the UK market.
All I know is, I'd like to see all UK releases i.e. the ones sold here with UK catalogue numbers marked as UK, with a separate field for country of manufacture - after all the "EU" is not a country, merely a trading region.

A further problem is that the presence of a UK catalogue number does not mean it is exclusively a UK release. It may just mean that there is a distinct catalogue number for the UK as opposed to other European countries, and this is quite common.
I think we have to accept that we are probably never going to have the whole "Europe" issue exactly right and we are always going to have releases under the wrong flag, but we do the best we can to keep it under control. Plus we do of course make corrections as soon as possible, as and when they are flagged (no pun intended) up.
Whilst I can see the argument for an option to enter country of manufacture AND country(-ies) of release, I do think that would actually cause more problems than it would solve, and causes unnecessary complications when one of 45Worlds/Cat's goals is to remain as user-friendly as possible and accessible to as many people as possible also.
Czech Republic added. Just a note that the country should be where the CD was released, even if that means Europe. Sometime Czech Republic was just where the CD was manufactured.
Can we have International for vinyl albums, please? I have the somewhat unusual (i.e. I've never seen another one) combination of European and South African WEA companies on Womack & Womack's LOVE WARS.

If I notice duplications that have the same catalogue number but list different countries, so need to be combined under a "Europe" country, or need to change a single country to "Europe", where do I report this? I have tried using "make a correction" but it has been ignored and had no feedback.

OK, here's a fun one.
Vinyl LP (normally Kiri Te Kanawa would go in Classical, but she's singing Broadway showt unes)
Label is London Digital, copyright Decca (UK), recorrded by Decca in the UK, manufactured in Holland, but intended for the US market under the London label.
country?
I'd be inclined to call it US like the London releases of Decca (UK) in the 50;s and 60's
HELP! Having finished adding my 7'' single collection to 45cat I thought I would start on CD Singles (a much bigger job), but while looking at the first one, (ABC) I found a mythical country called Europe which several ABC singles had been added to. Whilst I bought mine all in the UK and consider them all to be UK singles, what is the criteria for deciding whether they should be UK or Europe? Very confusing.

Jake if not sure initially enter them as UK singles (do a search for cat#/barcode first to make sure they have not been entered as an International or European issue).
If a member later states the same disc with same barcode/cat # was also available for purchase in other countries a Mod can change the country to reflect this.
