Various Artists - Revelations: A Musical Anthology For Glastonbury Fayre (1972)
Err.. that was it Chris B. In fact Barney designed the header of Let it Rock. I read that the labels were difficult to print. In the end Revelations went to a company called Creasy's of Hertford in Hertfordshire. It is all in a book called Makin' it by Nigel Turner.

Paul And Linda McCartney - Ram (1971)
The ring under the paper label looks like it might be a dutch pressing. The font is all wrong for a UK label.

There are 3 inserts; cut out pyramid on silver and black coated stiff card, a 4 panel fold out poster with details of the artists across the 3 discs and poster also folded in quadrants with an invitation to make a geodesic dome.

Renaissance - Renaissance (1969)
This period is quite confused. It features the lovely Binky Collum and Nasville Teens .

Mahavishnu John McLaughlin - My Goal's Beyond (1971)
A fine album and which one JM has misgivings about not because of the music, but because he loves his performance but the deal that he gave away the album for.

I have been informed that this exists as a UK issue! I have never seen.

Pink Floyd - A Nice Pair (1974)
There must be an interesting array of later domestic pressings right up to the extinction of EMI vinyl.

Pink Floyd - Ummagumma (1969)
Yes. I agree about the black blank paper stock leading to a generic one tone solution except for acts like the Beatles whose Apple output had to be carefully handled. One hidden Gem is that a famous LP replayed a prank from yesteryear

Note black labels in the dying throes of EMI vinyl from Hayes. Any idea why?

Public Foot The Roman - Public Foot The Roman (1973)
The Hipgnosis photo was taken at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea F.C. London. Storm Thorgerson was a Tottenham fan. I asked him when I showed the UK LP. He was pointing out various people who were simply his mates and some which he had not thought of for quite a while. He equated the name of the band with the Colleseum and thought that the football ground was on that wavelength.

Frank Zappa - Joe's Garage Act I (1979)
I'm pretty sure this was released in South Africa with customary lack of country of origin.

Kevin Ayers - The Joy Of A Toy / Shooting At The Moon (1975)
I think this should appear as Harvest Heritage* as well which has some interesting variations.

*See label for HH device.

Is this Kevin? I have never heard of this LP. I like to think Kev was musically collaborating with Roy.

Kevin Ayers - Bananamour (1973)
You might have the actual sleeve intended as sometimes the sleeves were imported to create the mismatch. What would be good is to upload the sleeve image on the US listing of Bananamour with a reference sans disc.

Pink Floyd - Obscured By Clouds (1972)
This is an interesting LP. Roger Waters discusses a defective pressing in 1972 in the Pink Floyd film Pompeii. Also there is a strange pressing on the Harvest Heritage label.

I found a Hong Kong copy. I suspect that it was pressed by Sony in Japan.

I recently found a sealed copy of this USA LP ( In India ) I wonder if the bar code was applied when the LP was first issued.

Pink Floyd - Ummagumma (1969)
One of my prized possesions is the shop poster for this 2 LP. Because the poster is bigger than the LP sleeve, Hipgnosis had to redo the idea of the artwork which created another 3 iterations to reach infinity back in '69. Rick Wright is the main figure for good measure.

Pink Floyd - Soundtrack From The Film "More" (1969)
I discover that when Pink Floyd were getting their affairs in order recently they discovered that there are no tapes from the recording session. I believe it was recorded at Pye, Marble Arch. What a tragedy.

I remember seeing a copy of Meddle on domestic Parlophone Phillipines. I feel sorry for the person if he really paid £2000 to that ebayer

The Graham Bond Organization - The Sound Of ' 65 (1965)
I have uploaded images of Mr Bakers own copy which I had the honour of passing through my hands. Provenance was Bonhams ( from memory) in which Ginger had a clear out of items from the early 1960s onward, when you consider his chaotic life it is remarkable that they survived in his possession!

Shirley Collins And Davy Graham - Folk Roots, New Routes (2014)
There was an insert with the original issue and the sleeve was not pasted down tabs as far as I have seen, however I would not rule it out as Decca did have more than one 3rd party supplying finished sleeves ( see early CBS for example) However, despite historical deviations it is a handsome and desirable object especially if Decca did this. One historic reissue I am heavily critical of was the Pink Floyd 'See Emily Play' on pink vinyl and wrong pic sleeve which was from the german issue of 1967 which made the whole edifice so wrong.

Pink Floyd - Animals (1977)
I have had since Oct or Nov 1980 a 2 x one sided EMI Hayes test pressing of this brutal LP. The stamped in the corner remarks is dated 14th Dec 1976 ( from memory) I bought it from 'Luigi and the boys' in Hanway St from an ad in Sounds. ( classifieds)

I have a number of EMI test pressings which I find fascinating but really I know very little about them and why they exist and the system they were part of. So if anyone wants to investigate the subject then I have a few Pink Floyd ones for further study.

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973)
I have an EMI Hayes test pressing of this LP 2 x One sided discs. The white inner sleeve is stamped up 14th Feb 1973. The matrix marks is A2 B2. I would welcome a discussion of the reasons why and how these discs were used. The previous lacquer used to make the A1 B1 stamper it is said was defective so that was destroyed. Whether any test pressings were created and also destroyed .. I just don't know. I also have Animals test pressing 2 x One sided which has an earlier 1976 date to its release ( I think the same difference)

I have been shown a sleeve in which the ship has not been included in the printing process. Is this known outside of my japanese friend showing me the image of his 'smart phone'
