OldMod67 21st Feb 2022		Vinyl Album The Left Banke - Voices Calling (1986)	I was a bit puzzled (and disappointed) when I bought this back in 1986. Nothing in the way of accompanying info, which many Bam Caruso used to contain, so I was unaware of its history. Recorded by a reunited, but troubled line-up, in 1978 it came out in USA as Strangers On A Train also in '86. The UK edition also had the track listing altered.

OldMod67 8th Feb 2022		Vinyl Album Paul Weller - A Kind Revolution (2017)	@russh29: thanks for the review. I must admit I quite like A4-B3, but it really is a mixed bag, which is how I (unfortunately) found his later releases to be. I do give them a listen, but this was the last release I bought. The last one I really loved was As Is Now, with some truly great tunes on the next few, but overall not as strong. He's still amazingly successful, so I'm in a minority I know!
OldMod67 7th Feb 2022		Vinyl Album Original Soundtrack - The Prisoner: Original Soundtrack Music (1986)	Note: Not exclusively via Six Of One (of which I was a member) but I was with a mate of mine who purchased this very edition (quite expensively) over the counter, at Our Price, Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth. It was the only copy. I ended up settling for the regular edition a while later, but had some of the contents separately.
OldMod67 7th Feb 2022		Vinyl Album Jan And Dean - Jan And Dean Meet Batman (1987)	A query regarding the Bam Caruso edition of this L.P. I bought a copy of this after hearing the first two tracks played on the John Peel show, mine coming with black & silver labels, not the more fancy one's illustrated here. After spending Covid furlough investigating old record boxes and the like I recently found a cassette tape containing material taped from Peel shows, a common occurrence back then, this tape I'd dated 14/12/87, which may not be the broadcast date for the J&D tracks. Regarding the Jan & Dean album, overlapping the two songs is a spoken word piece, starting over the screeching tyres of the Batmobile and continuing over the intro of the next tune, 'The Origin..'. The spoken word piece is akin to "There are physical causes of insomnia and these too are such that they can be dealt with successfully. Many people go to bed and wonder why they're not sleeping.." Does anyone out there know if this is some kind of error, does it appear on the other label copies? Maybe it's a promo edition, I remember Our Price playing the JTQ Mission Impossible mini album in-store, with extra bits my stock copy didn't have...

I've not come across this online at all, but somewhere I have a letter from the band which included this morsel. The letter was from Dick Green, not Alan McGee, on Creation Artifact letterhead.

I think I bought Cruiser's Creek and then this album, rather than album first. A Monkees fan since a kid, what I do find interesting is that a Cruiser's Creek review likened it to Stepping Stone (which I didn't spot) but then Barmy on the album has a riff certainly inspired by Valleri...
OldMod67 27th Nov 2021		Vinyl Album Various Artists - The Girls' Scene (2020)	I have to say that as this is still in its shrink, it was bound to be tough. I now only work on a tablet, so my images are iffy nowadays, but consider having my image up better than none, until a kind catter can replace. Considering the detail russh29 has gone into, grateful is a word I would use rather than laughable.

OldMod67 20th Aug 2021		Vinyl Album Television Personalities - And Don't The Kids Just Love It (1981)	Regarding the above January 1981 release date, on 45cat under the release of the 'Syd Barrett' single, there is a Rough Trade release sheet from Feb 6th (courtesy of Mikey Dread) listing the date for this album as 'due February 20th'.I 24/10/21: I see it's been amended to February, thanks.
OldMod67 19th Jul 2021		Vinyl Album The Beatles - Revolver (1966)	It's probably been mentioned somewhere here before, but I can't spot it. The 80s issue label has the title as 'Love You Too'. My seventies reissue that was given to me in '79 has ''Too' on the label and 'To' on the rear sleeve. This copy that I've owned since late 1979 also lacks the 'stereo' on the front sleeve as per the 'cica 1987' Image.

I thought it may have been a really early press. In that case my pix may need deleting. I am aware of various editions of this, as it proved popular outside the UK too. My copy is from 1983 (Adrian's Records, Essex)

OldMod67 13th Feb 2021		Vinyl Album The Who - My Generation (1981)	The sticker on the sleeve relates to the box set Phases, from which this edition of the album originates. It came out in the UK around May of 1981, some retailers splitting the box. I picked up Sell Out, A Quick One and Who's Next all from the set, from the same shop. The 2675 216 is the overall number for the set.
