TheJudge 25th Jul 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumStretch - Forget The Past (1978) | No, it's definitely not the HDH label. This is UK, and I'm racking my brains trying to think of what the printing/font/layout style on the labels reminds me of in terms of one of the big companies of that time who may have set it up/distributed it. But the link won't come...time for bed, I think.
Edit: EMI, perhaps?

TheJudge 25th Jul 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumOne Plus Two - The Ivy Room (1985) | @Deltics,
No, my goof. Corrected now. Or, is it...?
@sheepdip1234,
Yes, a touch odd that. This Homestead was a subsidiary of Dutch East India, which was, in part, an importing operation.
I'm open to guidance as to which country this should be allocated to.

TheJudge 20th Jul 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band - The Doughnut In Granny's Greenhouse (1968) | I still think that 'Legs' Larry Smith looks like Jimmy Carl Black in that photo (rear cover)

TheJudge 5th Jul 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumSimon And Garfunkel - Sounds Of Silence (1966) | Issue 437 (Feb. '15). Only mentions the stereo version, though.

TheJudge 28th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumHawkwind - P.X.R. 5 (1979) | I think I got mine for Christmas '79, and mine's the blue label version.
TheJudge 27th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumHawkwind - P.X.R. 5 (1979) | Yes, that's exactly what mine looked like before I de-censored it.
TheJudge 27th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumElton John - Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player (1973) | I wonder if DJH20427 dates from after DJM's distribution switched from Pye to CBS? When that happened, back-list singles still on the 'live' catalogue were re-issued with a prefix to the original number. Like here, for instance, which was a re-issue of DJS 388.
Perhaps for LPs, the prefix was '20', so that DJLPH 427 would become DJH 20427?
TheJudge 26th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJerry Lee Lewis - Roll Over Beethoven !!! (1972) | The label says Hilltop and the cat# matches other releases on Hilltop, so I think it's OK as it stands.
TheJudge 26th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumWhitesnake - 1987 (1987) | It seems that some copies were issued with an embossed sleeve. That might be the -X version.

TheJudge 20th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Past Masters (2012) | Just so that everyone knows: the entries in the Contribution Notes do get read when the LP comes to be approved by the mods. The trouble is that we have a very large backlog of vinyl albums awaiting approval at the moment, so it may be some time before any entries get acted upon.
Since it has now been raised as a correction, I've actioned it.

TheJudge 12th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Trashmen - Surfin' Bird (1964) | Looks like you have s stereo issue/re-issue. Either way, given the difference in the track listing, it should have its own entry.
TheJudge 7th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJoan Armatrading - The Key (1983) | MM: you were probably thinking of Ronco, who were K-Tel's nearest rivals in the 'cheap and nasty products' market in the early/mid-70s.
TheJudge 6th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJoan Armatrading - The Key (1983) | Clearly A&M, so correction made (Rondor was the music publishing company, MM).
TheJudge 6th Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumShirley Bassey - The Very Best Of Shirley Bassey (1974) | Every pic I've been able to find has shown the front cover with EMI and Columbia logos on it (except for one which - bizarrely - shows a Parlophone logo, but apparently on a sticker over where the Columbia logo was). Bearing in mind the date, then I'm changing the label to Columbia.
TheJudge 3rd Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumFocus - Focus 3 (1972) | House Of The King (although not, perhaps, the Focus recording of it) was the theme tune of Yorkshire TV's popular science programme Don't Ask Me! in the mid-70s, the show which first brought the arm-whirling enthusiasm of Dr Magnus Pyke to a wide audience.
House Of The King actually appeared on the first Focus LP, and the version on this set is almost certainly the same one, despite the fact that the line-up had changed a couple of times in the interim, and so Martijn Dresden (bs) and Hans Cleuver (drums) are not credited here.
TheJudge 27th May 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumRenaissance - A Song For All Seasons (1978) | My original copy from 1978 had the buff-coloured WB labels. Unfortunately, I had to bin it after I'd dropped the pick up on Side 1 track 1 and knackered it.
And I didn't get a poster with mine... (sob!).
My replacement copy had the Burbank labels, as shown.
I did a couple of blog posts about this LP last year: one about 'Northern Lights', and the other about the title track.
TheJudge 26th May 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumRenaissance - A Song For All Seasons (1978) | You could add the front cover as well, because my scan has those stickers on it.
Is yours the Burbank label or the buff one?
TheJudge 18th May 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumHeeBeeGeeBees - 439 Golden Greats Or Never Mind The Originals, Here's The HeeBeeGeeBees (1981) | The Kenny Rogers send-up gets me every time!

TheJudge 15th May 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Plastic Ono Band - Live Peace In Toronto 1969 (1969) | "Unsafe at any speed"?
TheJudge 26th Apr 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJefferson Starship - Red Octopus (1986) | That fits in with the cat#s around it, so year changed.
TheJudge 26th Apr 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumNat King Cole - Dear Lonely Hearts (1962) | Perfectly possible - McCoy's career was well under way by '62.
TheJudge 26th Apr 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJefferson Starship - Red Octopus (1986) | The date of 1975 is surely wrong for this release. The original LP was issued that year, but the cat# of this re-issue would put it in about 1983.
TheJudge 22nd Apr 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumFocus - In And Out Of Focus (1971) | Or he was thinking ahead at the possibility of using it as an awful pun: 2302-036
TheJudge 21st Apr 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumFocus - Moving Waves (1971) | Rear scan of sleeve with BH logo as promised.
TheJudge 21st Apr 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumFocus - Moving Waves (1971) | Then kab2112's back cover scan doesn't belong to this entry.
I've just checked mine, and it has the BH logo top left (although some kind twerp has put an ink stamp over it). I'll scan it and add it later today, if I remember.
TheJudge 18th Apr 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJack Hansen And His Orchestra - 8 Top Hits (1957) | Trivia point: the logo of this company is very similar (in fact, different only in the direction the ship is facing) to that of Westward Television, which was the original franchise holder (1961-81) for commercial TV in the SW of England and was based in...Plymouth!
