Deltics 7th Nov 2013 | | Vinyl Album[no artist listed] - Miss World's Solid Gold Top Twenty | The Cyril in the phrase is (or was - he died in 1991 at the age of 47) Cyril Knowles, left-back for Tottenham Hotspur football team (also known as Spurs) in the 1970s. However, the song existed before it became linked with Cyril Knowles. In 1972 the song featured in a TV commercial for Wonderloaf, which showed a jolly Nottingham baker called Cyril. After one particularly spectacular goal, Spurs fans starting chanting the song in honour of Cyril Knowles, and it stuck. The song even made it to number 14 in the hit parade in March 1973. It was sung by the one-hit wonders Cockerel Chorus. The full chorus is 'Nice one, Cyril. Nice one, son. Nice one, Cyril. Let's have another one!', 'one' being another goal.

Deltics 9th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Rutles - The Rutles | From Wikipedia:
Following the release of the 1978 The Rutles album, ATV Music, the then-owner of the publishing rights to the Beatles catalog, sued Innes for copyright infringement. Though Innes hired a musicologist to defend the originality of his songs, he settled with ATV out of court for 50% of the royalties and shared songwriting credit on the 14 songs included on the album.

Deltics 24th Sep 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Jimi Hendrix Experience - Smash Hits | Yes it is but the one here also claims to be the 1973 reissue. The catalogue number doesn't look like any UK Polydor one I've ever come across.

Deltics 21st Sep 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones + 8 Bonus | Yes, I've read it already and I've been aware of these discs for some time. All of the bonus tracks are well known to Stones collectors and are readily available if you know where to look. Some of them are sourced from BBC recordings and, as yet, there has been no official "Stones at the Beeb" collection released. Have CD Maximum been given permission to use them? I suspect not.
