Syd Vliet 7th Jun 2014		CD Album The Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks 1964-1971	Re-issue of the double CD first released circa 1986 (it had also been available as two separate volumes). Gold coloured discs, although they are silver at the back. The folded booklet opens out into a larger square with another reproduction of the front cover on the back.

Syd Vliet 29th May 2014		CD Album Paul McCartney And Wings - Band On The Run	The Capitol/USA version should be listed with ten tracks including "Helen Wheels" as track 8 (inbetween "No Words" and "Picasso's..."). The CD was released in Dec/1987 not Dec/1988.

Syd Vliet 29th May 2014		CD Album John Lennon / Yoko Ono - Milk And Honey	I think the discs are identical, it's just the way the light is (or isn't) reflected in scanning it as opposed to taking a photo of it. If I tilt my disc slightly towards the window it looks all silver in the center.

We've got two entries for this CD with the same cat no., one for 1984 and one for 1986, so I think these should be merged. 1984 appears to be the correct release date, the one without the barcode being the earlier pressing.

Syd Vliet 26th May 2014		CD Album John Lennon - Anthology	Ah yes, all done now. Sadly my box is in a bit of a state, the Digipaks for the individual discs have attracted mildew with splodges of brown all over them, so I'll leave it to somebody else to scan those.

I remember feeling relieved that they used the original sleeve and not the revised 'Music For Pleasure' design for this and other Solo Beatle CD's. It was also good to have the original inner sleeve notes that were missing from the MFP issues, though I'm not sure where they got the blue background from (Same with the JL/POB CD with its' green backgrounds, the original inner sleeve was white).

Syd Vliet 24th May 2014		CD Album The Beatles - Live At The Star-Club, Hamburg	That must be a reference to the original Star Club Japanese CD. It says (P)1991 underneath the CBS logo, the other date on the right hand side is 91-3-31 and they surely wouldn't have released two versions on exactly the same day (one with less tracks than the other).

Syd Vliet 24th May 2014		CD Album The Beatles - The Silver Beatles	That's a good link, thanks. Have added a scan of the disc. The booklet is 16 pages but is not very interesting, plain text - half of it in Japanese and then the song lyrics in English.
Syd Vliet 24th May 2014		CD Album The Beatles - The Silver Beatles	"Timeless II" has '87-7-20' on the back but I bought that one on 5th December 1986. "Golden Beatles" has ''87-2-28' but that was my first ever CD purchase on 26th August 1986. The "Timeless II" disc itself has (P)1985, as does "Live at the Star Club" whilst "Silver Beatles" has (P)1982 but the sleeve notes in Japanese are signed off 'Nov 1985'. I don't know what those numbers on the back mean but they absolutely 100% do not refer to the release date.
