ppint. 8th Aug 2015		CD Album Midnight Syndicate - Gothic Nightmare • Soundtracks Sampler (2001)	midnight syndicate would appear to have throve/thriven - well, still exist; they're up to eighteen cds (and various other things), so they're presumably doing something right. or else, suitably horribly wrong. . . (is there any simple way of specifying a "gothic" font in comments?)
ppint. 8th Aug 2015		CD Album Various Artists - Soul, Volume 1 & 2 (2005)	these two cds not distributed together, but separately, with separate cat#s and with issues of different newspapers, which allows for the fun fact that volume 1 is vol. 1 of (the) "daily express soul", whilst volume 2 is vol.2 of (the) "sunday express soul"... desoulcd01 is "cdcatted" separately, as sesoul01 should probably be, given they weren't a single release.
ppint. 8th Aug 2015		CD Album Art Garfunkel - Across America (2005)	these two cds were not distributed together. mos (mail on sunday) 039 was a freebie with the one week's mail on sunday, distributed in the double (gatefold) card sleeve with empty pocket for the second disc: the second disc was distributed a week later in a single-pocket card sleeve.

ppint. 5th Aug 2015		CD Album Various Artists - The Ultimate Romance Album (2004)	goodbear66: yes, these two cds were only distributed separately, and not together. the second came in its own printed card sleeve. the first was distributed in the double sleeve, advertising the coming second volume, and with room to keep it in (instead of separately in its own sleeve), ready-printed with its track-listing.

ppint. 1st Aug 2015		CD Album 10cc - The Best Of 10CC Live (2007)	also promoting the release of the 10cc double cd, "10cc greatest hits and more" which isn't up on 45worlds (yet) - it seems not to've been spectacularly successful in this - and the 2007 UK tour; hopefully, it was at least reasonably good at this.
ppint. 1st Aug 2015		CD Album Various Artists - Summer Breeze (2004)	i can't help wondering at what age, musical taste, dance style, etc. group, cohort, decile, etc. some of these in-theory newspaper sales-promoting compilation discs were aimed - or if, indeed, "aimed" is quite the right word.

ppint. 31st Jul 2015		CD Album Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1985)	robozuc: essentially (sorry) trying to judge, or sometimes second-guess, its intended market(s): clues to which include (p)&© information in multiple languages, or just one; distributors given for multiple countries, or just one; multiple publishers/performing rights agencies' logos being on the disc, or no and - for some, not least - the country of mfr indicated as that of the releasing music co. being probably too small a market to justify a mfrs' run of thousands (low thousands at least). but no, it's not always obvious. country of mfr alone is not a good guide. - specifically wrt the pye records/precision/prt/castle/essential/sanctuary group(s), given how little indication there generally is of any attempt to market outside the british isles on the records/tapes/cds & packaging, i assume that they're uk (or, uk & ireland) only, unless there's indication otherwise.
ppint. 29th Jul 2015		CD Album The Band - A Musical History (2005)	leonard: chances are capitol (the bit of what was emi left with umg, iiuc) never intended to print a yeurppean edition of the book - so we get the merkin printing of it in the yeurppean package. it'd be nice & thoughtful of them, if they bothered to include dual merkin-yeurppean information & release data, chart placings (where relevant), etc - but i doubt that's going to happen again, any time soon.
ppint. 28th Jul 2015		CD Album Björk Guðmundsdóttir And Trió Guðmundar Ingólfssonar - Gling-Gló (1990)	björk gudhmundsdóttir is somewhat better-known these days as, simply, "björk". gudhmundur ingólfsson, gudhmundur steingrímsson and thordhur högnason are tríó ingólfssonar; i do not know whether & what they may've recorded under this name.

ppint. 24th Jul 2015		CD Album Björk - Telegram (1996)	this cd appears to be remixes of björk's previous year's "post" album, sometimes with the remixers (? &/or other musicians?) performing with her/mixing their parts into the originals. bicvwbw - and my eyes hurt, from having to decipher an entire world of info in tiny print that's only provided on the disc obverse - "grrrrr..."
ppint. 24th Jul 2015		CD Album Fairport Convention - What We Did On Our Holidays (2003)	island remasters series, with "island pink" label & typography echoing that of the classic mid-sixties-seventies' wip cat# singles & ilp/ilps 9nm/90nm mono/stereo island pop/pink originals. "witchseason" was joe boyd's production company, and could've grown into his own, semi- & then fully- independent label/record co, as chris blackwell had a penchant for helping talented producers (on a "heads-we-both-win, tails-i-win-and-you-had-a-fair-chance" basis) do this - instead, he heeded the blandishments of the warner-kinneycarparkconglommerate, and returned merkiawards, whence he had originally appeared.
ppint. 22nd Jul 2015		CD Album Art - Supernatural Fairy Tales (2015)	originally released as island lp, ilp967 (note not ilps (and not 9067) december 1967; it was released only in mono, and island then distinguished stereo versions of their lps from the mono by interpolation of a "0" after the "9" and before the last two digits of the mono cat# as well as appending the "s" to the "ilp". (this was a system doomed to fail after the ilp999/ilps9099 couplet - if any further mono/stereo pairs were to occur; luckily, island ceased issuing mono lps before reaching this singularity/event horizon...)

(it's the latin translation of the first two lines of hippocrates' "aphorisms", with the order reversed from that in the original greek.)
