Guitar Heroes At The BBC

2008 - 2009
A celebration of Seventies-era axe-men, acoustic virtuosos and thumping riff merchants, in a compilation of guitar-heavy performances from the BBC TV archives.

Guitar gods including Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Peter Green and Johnny Winter are joined by, among others, flamenco maestro Manitas De Plata, bottleneck bluesman Ry Cooder and straight-up rockers AC/DC and Thin Lizzy.

Everything from Fleetwood Mac's ambient masterpiece Albatross to hits like The Jam's In The City and Free's All Right Now feature along with lesser-known gems like Maid in Heaven by Be Bop Deluxe and Nils Lofgren's Keith Don't Go.

The tracks were recorded in the heyday of BBC shows such as The Old Grey Whistle Test, Top of the Pops and Rock Goes to College.

Complete line-up:
Alice Cooper - School's Out

Get Stuffed

1991 - 1994
Unbelievably clunky, with Andy and his mate (the mystery chefs), with both their oars well out the water......different participants did the cooking on each episode, made up I believe of UK and foreign students, probably at university.

Tag line: "......don't forget to wash your hands...."

Big Little Lies

2017 - 2019
Rated 9/10
They say the that the book is always better than than the film, but having read the excellent novel by Liane Moriarty I can assure you that that this series is as good as, if not better than the book.

Shot on location in the wonderful Monterey, California and its surrounding area, the story tells the tale of a group of mothers who on the outside look to have wonderful complete lives but each have their own (big) little lies that are told to just let them cope/survive with their lives.

The screen writing is superb and it quickly draws you into the storyline as the character's lives are slowly looked at. Through struggles in their marriages, parental problems, sexual jealously the mystery deepens with each instalment. You know from the first episode there is a killing, but it is not until the end (of season 1) that you find out who is killed and by whom. In the meanwhile you yourself will find several possible victims with a growing list of possible killers.

The acting is excellent and by the way the soundtrack is brilliant!

The first season closely follows the story set out in the novel however I see that there will be a second season so I await with interest to see where the series will go next.

As the cameraman was called Graham and also knew what Anneka had to do, she was very cheeky with him. Which was good for me, being also called Graham, there was this gorgeous blond flirting to the camera using my name!
Great for the old ego!!

I suspect that Simon Randall might have been the prototype of Harry Potter! Depending if J K saw it!

There is a DVD available of the whole series. However only one episode has survived in colour. That being the last one in the Icebox one.
It seems they were only rescued by being recorded for use in other countries.

Law & Order: UK

Although technically it hasn't been cancelled, the fact no new series have been broadcast since 2014 and its showrunner and stars are now involved in other series, I think it's safe to put an end date on this until such a time as the series is restarted, if that happens.

Roseanne

1988 - 2018
ABC has just announced that the series will continue without Roseanne and retitled The Conners. However I'm also seeing it referred to as a spinoff/separate series. If it ends up being a separate series then I say we can close off the original with a 2018 end date. But if it's a continuation - like what happened when the sitcom Valerie was retooled as The Hogan Family after its marquee star quit between seasons - then based on that precedent, The Conners should be added as an alternative title and the listing continued here. EDIT: Looks like The Conners is officially being considered a spin-off, rather than a continuation, so I've gone ahead and put in the end date. It can always be changed later if it turns out to be a Hogan Family situation instead.

Jessie [1984]

Interesting coincidence: Lindsay Wagner plays a psychiatrist in this short-lived series; three years later, when they relaunched The Bionic Woman as a series of reunion TV movies with The Six Million Dollar Man, her character Jamie Sommers was now ... a psychiatrist. It would be interesting to see this series and try to pretend it's Jaime working undercover.

Excellent series though not in the same class as TP (there was one episode which directly referenced that other show, though, where two characters stopped talking and for no apparent reason, started clicking their fingers along to a very TP-like tune!).

Scooby Doo Where Are You!

1969 - 1978
Interestingly, this is the only series in which Scooby Doo's name isn't hyphenated. Since we go with what the original title screen shows, I've submitted a little correction on that (by rights there should be no comma, either).

The Graham Norton Show

2007 - Now
Easily the best of the bunch currently!

This is a little different to the format described below (and followed by Jonathan Ross and Alan Carr) - the guests are not interviewed in order but in a seemingly random jumble. Questions are asked individually, of course, but then one will be asked of another guest then it could go back to the first one or even someone else!

Gavin & Stacey

2007 - 2010
@Quad5point1 My understanding is we go with whatever the first-season title screen says for the main title and then any alternates get listed as alternates. So if the show was called The James Corden Show its first season that would be its main title with Gavin & Stacey its alternate. And if a DVD release uses an altered title on the box (i.e. Star Trek: The Animated Series but the show itself is just titled Star Trek) that gets added as an alternate too. Why, do the DVDs spell out the "&"?
