Elvis Presley - Elvis For Every One (1965)
This version will be quite rare as not many people had the correct equipment to play stereo albums back in 1965.

Elvis Presley - Elvis For Everyone (1972)
The USA version of this album had Summer Kisses, Winter Tears as track A2 instead of Wild In The Country. As far as I know all the available CD versions feature the USA track-listing which means that the UK release is only available on vinyl.

Elvis Presley - Elvis' Gold Records Volume 4 (1968)
Thanks for the info. memphis martin. I picked up a stereo copy of this album just recently and had some difficulty in placing it as it had an orange label but was housed in the old style 1968 RCA Victor boxed logo sleeve.
But after looking at your uploads it turns out that I have the 1970 pressing with the large orange label housed in it's appropriate correct sleeve.
Once again, many thanks and keep up the good work.

Various Artists - Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific (1958)
I'm going to stick my neck out and say that the RCA Victor labels/sleeves are from 1960's re-pressings whereas the RCA Red Seal labels/sleeves are all from the earlier (original) 1950's issues. This album was released in both formats- mono & stereo and it is possible that each variant had a different sleeve as well as a slightly different label. There are also Gatefold sleeves to be had as well the normal ones.

Elvis Presley - Fun In Acapulco (1963)
Review
One of the better Elvis movie soundtrack albums and a vast improvement on the previous awful offering - It Happened At The Worlds Fair.

Elvis Presley - Loving You (1957)
10 inch vinyl albums were a very rare thing indeed, even in the 1950's. The standard format of a vinyl LP was 12" and at the time of this particular release (1957) there were three types of record being manufactured :

1. The 45 rpm 7" vinyl single and Extended Player
2. The 78 rpm 10" shellac single
3. The 33 rpm 12" vinyl LP.

The US version of this album was released in the standard 12" format with twelve tracks, so the 10" eight track UK version is somewhat unique and quite collectable.

Could this awful movie and it's equally poor soundtrack be the worst of all of Elvis' releases of this type.

I defer to your knowledge on that point Memphis Martin. My info. came from another source which is also maintained and up-dated by individual contributors. Please feel free to correct my up-loads if you can.

Elvis Presley - A Date With Elvis (1959)
There is no evidence that a stereo version of this album was released in the UK in 1959 so the rear sleeve 1148101 was probably a mis-print and later rectified.

Elvis Presley - Rock & Roll No.2 (1957)
Great scans of the labels memphis martin.Nipper the Dog really gives it the authentic 1950's look. The HMV Elvis 78's all came with a plain blue label but the HMV LP's of that era look classy.
It is one of those must have albums for Elvis die-hards but a lot of them will have had to settle for the 1962 RCA Victor re-issue.

I wouldn't have expected to still see this album being re-issued in Mono as late as 1969.

Elvis Presley - Rock & Roll No.2 (1957)
There can't be many copies still around on the original HMV label and any that are in better than average condition will be worth a bit, the same goes for Elvis' first HMV album release in the UK.
This has been re-released in various forms with new sleeves by RCA and they even did a dreadful job of giving it a fake stereo re-mix in the early 70's on the Orange label.
Elvis purists will want this HMV original or at the very worst the December 1962 RCA black label RD 7528 reissue in mono.

Elvis Presley With The Jordanaires - His Hand In Mine (1961)
This entire album as well as two other hit songs- Surrender & Crying In The Chapel making 14 tracks in total - was recorded in one marathon overnight recording session at Nashville in October 1960. He was ably backed by The Jordanaires, Charlie Hodge & Millie Kirkham and the band included Scotty Moore,Floyd Cramer and DJ Fontana.
A remarkable level of output which was quite common for Elvis at that time.

Elvis Presley - The Elvis Presley Sun Collection (1975)
My version has the plain green RCA label without the Starcall annotation. The cover does however show Starcall on the front top right and RCA logo on the front bottom right. The back cover has the full Roy Carr sleeve notes and was printed by Robert Stace. Cat. HY1001 Price Code TT.
This album is also infamous by virtue of the re-mastering by RCA of the original Sun recordings resulting in a smothering of echo particularly to the vocals. This was not rectified until much later, most notably on the CD versions where the authentic "Sun" sound has been lovingly restored.

Elvis Presley - G.I. Blues (1960)
An6y66- Your images are of the first issue in Nov.1960. Subsequent pressings from about 1962 onward would have been on the RCA Victor label with either a small Red RCA spot or a white one. My copy is on RCA Victor with a Red Spot label but still only has RCA on the sleeve.

Elvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records (1958)
Thanks for that okun69. My copy does indeed have a Red Seal 9cm diameter label, but do you think that it is in it's correct sleeve i.e. mid 60's non-gatefold of the same type as depicted by 78rpm maniac. The sleeve carries the boxed black RCA Victor logo and Cat. no. RB 16069, no mention of Red Seal anywhere on the sleeve. Several UK RCA Victor Elvis albums of the 1968/69 era seem to have been manufactured with the older black style label as well as the new orange style. Elvis Gold Records Vol 4 being one example.
I have taken the liberty of listing my Red seal copy as a new entry on Discogs and I will take your advice about using 1969 as the release date.

Note to self- must get out more !

Elvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records (1958)
Need a bit help here please. Just purchased a copy that I can't place anywhere including trawling through Discogs. Comes in a single RCA Victor mid 1960's sleeve identical to image 452016 from 78 rpm maniac with the same tracks as listed. The label is red in colour RCA Red Seal RB 16069 H2WP 8399 but the label text formatting is in the early 1970's RCA modern style that was introduced about 1968. It is a mono record manufactured in the UK and has a p 1958 annotation. Appears to be an early1970's record in a mid 1960's sleeve but the Cat.No. for this particular album post 1970 is RCA Victor SF 8129 on the Orange label with a totally different cover pic taken from the late 60's with Elvis in black leather. I have found an identical pic to upload as I can't do a scan of mine, ref 1099746. Any ideas?

Elvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records Volume 1 (1970)
Thanks for that great advice Magic Marmalade. All of these recordings would have been made in Mono so any Stereo issues will be faked in a way that you eloquently describe.
I got a Mono early 1960's version of Elvis Gold Records Vol 2 just this week in preference to an Orange label "Electronically processed Stereo" 1970's issue that was available from the same dealer.
The first true Elvis Stereo recordings did not start until the Elvis is Back sessions in 1960 after he had left the US Army.

Elvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 2 (1960)
Just got a fairly decent copy in original glorious mono today for a fiver, mine is black UK RCA Victor RD27159 with a black/silver RCA Spot as opposed to the Red Spot (see illustration). As far as I know the RCA Victor label only came into use for the UK in 1963 but I stand to be corrected. Prior to that it was RCA.
The track listing on the front sleeve bears no resemblance to the track sequence of the record itself and as there is no track listing on the rear sleeve then basically you can't be sure what is coming next- that must be a first!

Elvis Presley - Loving You (1957)
A German 12 " album version containing 12 tracks has surfaced elsewhere on this site but seems to be available in Stereo only. The Cat No. is RCA Victor LSP1515 and this is the identical Cat. No. to the USA stereo release. The year of release is claimed to be 1957 but I have my doubts as to whether that is accurate.

Elvis Presley - Golden Records Vol. 2 (1971)
This would have made an excellent re-issue if they has stuck with the iconic Gold Lame suit sleeve from the original 1960 release. Thankfully that artwork is preserved on the German RCA International version of this album which was released at the same time and is widely available.
