carryonsidney ● 25th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumStatus Quo - From The Makers Of.... | I've just got my Metal box out and found the CAT is PRO BX 1 not PRO LP 1
- Im wondering if Snig could confirm if he has the metal round box or the square card box?
Sorted see my next entry. https://www.45worlds.com/vinyl/album/probx1
If this is the original first edition it should be a numbered tin box.

carryonsidney ● 24th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love | there was a polydor reissue in a single sleeve with the image the "right way" up - maybe folks can look at that when it arrives!?
carryonsidney ● 24th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love | I would like to point out before anybody rotates it that the front cover image is the right way round! Spine at left- opens on right.
carryonsidney ● 23rd Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumBooker T. And The MG's - Soul Dressing | no worries YD - I might get to photoing Atlantic Disco... as well - pretty sure I still have a copy of that .
carryonsidney ● 22nd Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumBooker T. And The MG's - Soul Dressing | I have owned the 'normal' release - not sure if I still have it. I didnt enter the correct number of tracks because I havent got this album to hand at mo, [like every other record I own - in a heap sans organisation!]

carryonsidney ● 21st Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Easy Rider | as a matter of fact, Stateside was an international label - covering at least 32 countries. This Easy Rider soundtrack does appear in the UK but on Stateside //Dunhill SSL 5018 - I have a copy somewhere.

carryonsidney ● 18th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - A Jazz Salute To Freedom | probably is a typo because Nat is Cannonball's brother or something like that!
carryonsidney ● 16th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumOzzy Osbourne - Ozzmium | Curious use of Randy Rhoads rather than Ozzy himself as the "cover star" on this record!
carryonsidney ● 13th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Who - The Who Sell Out | Audiodiscs have an extra hole, personally I think in the 50's the americans probably did supply acetate blanks but EMI would have started making their own pretty quickly to save money.
A fantastic Who related item by the way Getalife.
carryonsidney ● 12th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumMarillion - In Concert | If this a geniune BBC transcription disc of the 1980's the label will be green and yellow on a white background, made in uk.
Lots of bootlegs were run of these discs I used to have a U2 one with the right design but no colour.
carryonsidney ● 11th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumHorace Andy - The Best Of Horace Andy | there are multiple versions of this album with a slightly different running order - your record matches the sleeve SO555 -
its a minefield trying to collect reggae especially albums as they tend to be wrong record in sleeve when you buy them at carboots etc!
Might need mods to keep this entry openminded if somebody turns up the SO5555 record and the SO555 sleeve?
carryonsidney ● 9th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Break-Through | I think there is something up with the cats & dates on this label, if you sort by the label name you can see the cats are not currently chronological or sequential? I think the Published dates are a bit misleading on this label. Sixties label design to my eyes looks like this one
carryonsidney ● 9th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Break-Through | 1969? looks like mid 70's record to me.
carryonsidney ● 9th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumTom Paxton - Ramblin' Boy | typo on label - most mentions on web go to " Ramblin' " - this was his debut album.
carryonsidney ● 8th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumPeter Thomas (Narrator) - We Came In Peace For All Mankind | Uk version of an album that came out on Decca in the USA before the actual landing.see
carryonsidney ● 8th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumStatus Quo - From The Makers Of.... | Should be noted that this boxset was available in 2 versions, one with a circular tin box and the other with a more usual square cardboard box.
carryonsidney ● 7th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - A Hard Day's Night | sorry to have upset you, hope serenity and calm is restored.
carryonsidney ● 7th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - A Hard Day's Night | In fact there is a local Taiwanese language however in the 1960's it was actually banned [!] from all use - [schools, official and so on], and the simplified version of Chinese Mandarin was used instead.
Its highly unlikely you see genuine chinese Beatles records, considering the regime happily persecuted some 36 million people and killed possibly upto 1.5 million people for amongst other offences owning, listening or looking at anything connected to the Western bourgeois as enemies of Communism. This state of affairs continued until 1976 so way past the Beatles era.
carryonsidney ● 6th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - A Hard Day's Night | 唱片 = records or Disk, so the literal translation of the label name is "First Records". By the way Kab it *WILL* have had a sleeve, if following the pattern of the 2 I have it would be full colour, on flimsy paper with a tight fitting flimsy pvc cover, thin plain paper inner sleeve.
*typo!
carryonsidney ● 6th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - A Hard Day's Night | This is not Chinese, more likley to be Taiwan or Sth Korean? China was undergoing the Cultural revolution or about to when this came out. I have at least 2 other LPs on this label, Black Sabbath - Masters of Reality and Smokey Robinson & Miracles - hi we're the Miracles, the Miracles is listed on a few soul/ motown sites I'll try and find the link again.

carryonsidney ● 5th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumAC/DC - Let There Be Rock | thats a lovely job mate no problem - mods can you delete my very lopsideed original?

carryonsidney ● 4th Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumPrince Buster - She Was A Rough Rider | According to Discogs Westmoor does exist as a label seems to be a very small label indeed that issued some Prince Buster stuff between 1988 + 1995 the firm was then wound up. It also seems to be responsible for a Bill Tarney/ coronation street 7" and a Gerry + the England football team release! Both audible torture no doubt.
Why anybody would have a go at releasing this at the same time as the SKANK record label was reissuing bluebeat stuff with some success [including this lp] with loverly printed inner sleeves of memoribilia etc I dunno...
carryonsidney ● 3rd Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumLed Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II | roughly 78 or 79 on for this label design?
carryonsidney ● 2nd Oct 2013 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The Big Wheels Of Motown | I have just had a look at various Motown references and can't find an earlier version of this, if it did exist it would have a TML or STML cat number....
