fixbutte 10th Nov 2014		CD Album Dire Straits - Dire Straits (1983)	First (early 1983) issue with a different barcode (3 259180 005122). The displayed Vertigo Blue Swirl disc (originally submitted by nicoldo64 and moved from the later issue) is the second one, the first one also had a blue text instead of a black one.
fixbutte 10th Nov 2014		CD Album Dire Straits - Communiqué (1988)	Merged 1996 Blue Disc issue with the existing Vertigo Red Swirl issue with the same cat# and barcode. I can't decide, however, if this one was actually from 1988 (as originally entered by 78rpm-maniac) or from 1984 (as suggested by nicoldo64). Anyway, the first issues with the Vertigo Blue Swirl disc already came out in the first half-year of 1983 but had a different barcode (3 259180 005221).

I've also changed the label to Island [Europe] because this release was intended for whole Europe, not just Germany were the CD and the package were produced. As for Rattle And Hum, however, there was a separate UK issue with the cat# CID U26 exclusively.

I've filled in the titles (nboldock had already prepared the tracks) according to an eBay source. I was a bit puzzled about track 10 (Look Howard Angel), but that's like that on AMG too, so the misspelling may arise from the album tracklist. Composer credits still missing.
fixbutte 5th Sep 2014		CD Album Van Morrison - Astral Weeks (1987)	As I have already commented, my Manufactured In Germany copy doesn't date to later than 1987 because I bought it then as my first CD (making it one of the few CDs of which I remember the year of purchase). As supposed before, explicit US copies probably only came later than that. May 1987 is the CD release date according to Martin C. Strong's Great Rock Discography.

I'll change that and add Virgin America as second label. The cat# is a mystery though. It looks like the barcode digits make the cat# outside of the UK, so I 'll create a second cat# too.
fixbutte 1st Sep 2014		CD Album John Lee Hooker - The Best Of Friends (1998)	Besides, different sources name different featured artists: this one says [11] featuring: Carlos Santana, Chester Thompson, [12] featuring: Ry Cooder, Ike Turner, that one says [4] featuring Van Morrison & Booker T. Jones. The cover also lists Charles Brown as a featured artist.

Like on similar cases, however, I moved all the "featuring" artist credits to the record notes where they belong in my eyes. This is mainly a John Lee Hooker CD, see packaging, with several supporting partners, not actually a various artists collaboration album. All the newly created artists for one-song collaborations, though they can be linked, make things much more confusing on 45worlds CD Albums.

In addition, I'm not sure if I should change your description of image 48777 (maybe it was used liked that in other countries than the USA as well).

fixbutte 8th Aug 2014		CD Album Paul McCartney And Wings - Band On The Run (1985)	On vinyl, Band On The Run was a favorite of mine. The title song was in the discos when I was on holidays in the UK (Wales & London) in 1974, and I loved it. Though I own the LP, I hadn't heard it for decades when I finally bought it on CD in the 1990s. Listening to it then, I was very disappointed, found it shallow and boring, and never wanted to give a listen again..

Discogs has it as released in 1989, but I don't believe so because of the "Grapevine" edit and because of the low barcode number. I'm also nearly sure that I purchased this one before 1989 as one of my first CDs, again for obvious reasons: one continuous listening instead of small portions as given by the four LP sides.

As far as I remember Elton John was quite hip until 1974, around the time when his first Greatest Hits album came out, which was the only vinyl album of him that I have ever owned.

That's fine but we have to keep an eye on the note because other label designs will appear (there are about five different). I also have to adjust my previous comment: This CD (the first issue) may have been made (manufactured) in 1982 but it was not sold then because no CD players were available, see wordnwot's plausible comment on ABBA's The Visitors.
