I've often wondered what series two would have been like. The Banshees were a shoe-in for a spot apparently...

Guitarra

1985
Review
R.I.P.Julian Bream, you`re one of my favourite guitarists, especially working with John Williams,Peter Pears, etc.I do remember this series very well, when first transmitted for Channel Four in 1985 on Sunday Nights, when screened at 8:00 p.m.There are 8 episodes in total, not only he presented the show, but he devises the TV programme, and travels to Spain, and also performs with his guitar, and also he`s a great lutenist performing like the 17th century such as Bach,Sanz amongst others. The final episode-we hear the complete performance of Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo [the most popular guitar concerto of the 20th century as well as Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre],performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner. Also in 1985,RCA Red Seal released Guitarra!-The Guitar In Spain as a Double Album,Double Cassette and a Double CD to cash on the TV series. But I will treasure the series on DVD,as well as his guitar playing,in which I`ve Got on CD,and I still remember him so much.

Review
I remember this series quite well, and one of my favourite episodes is filmed at the main post office in Sutton,Surrey [now closed down],but sadly lost Mike Walling [also appeared with Tony Millan-and both became comedy writers such as The Brittas Empire, etc.]The Intro and Outro theme is performed by Dexy`s Midnight Runners and released as a single in November 1986 and reached No.13 in the UK charts.Karl Howman is absolutely a great actor, and also Carol Harrison [from Eastenders],also great and well acted throughout.A definitely great BBC comedy series for me,and I still like it now.

Killing Eve

Added "Comedy" to the genre list, as this is considered a dramedy. Indeed, having watched it for the first time a few weeks ago, it's actually a very funny show at times.

A Touch Of Cloth

2012 - 2014
Added an end year for this. Apparently the trailer for Series 4 was a joke and John Hannah is apparently on record as saying the series won't be coming back. Of course if they do pick it up again, the end date can always be removed.

Review
I remember this TV series, when first screened for LWT on Sunday nights, which it ran for 6 series [52 episodes in total],and good comedy acting from Tim Brooke-Taylor [sadly passed away on Easter Sunday 2020 at the age of 79],Richard O`Sullivan and Joanne Ridley. The series created by John Kane and Keith Leonard. The intro and the outro theme song is written and performed by Peter Skellern, and the opening sequence was actually filmed at Three Cliffs Bay,Gower, and I hope they`ll bring back the series broadcast again as a fitting tribute to Tim Broke-Taylor,and I still love the series so much and brings me memories of Sunday Night TV.

Review
I remember this series very well and first screened on Saturday Nights on ITV,and among them participants were on the show, such as the Welsh Comedian John Sparkes, when he teamed with another comedian Harry Enfield, which they called themselves Dusty and Dick, but sadly they voted off as far as I remember.Among the professions on the show such as singers,magicians,stand-up comedians, etc.I think this TV show ran for one series, and I hope they broadcast again on Youtube,so I know who were the acts on the show. The theme song is performed by Kate Robbins.

Don't let the welsh dialogue (with sub-titles) put you off this compelling drama. A good solid police drama with lots of little twists and turns and smaller sub-plots to keep you engrossed.

Series One and Two both are equally viewable and I would recommend you spend sometime getting sucked into this series.

Available on BBC iPlayer as at August 2020.

Little Fires Everywhere

2020
Rated 8/10
Based on Celeste Ng's 2017 bestseller, "Little Fires Everywhere" this mini-TV series (spanning nearly 8 hours) follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and the enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives.

I found it an interesting and engaging story line that was helped no end by its star cast. It was interesting how, as the series played out, me and my partner chose which character's side we were on only to find that maybe all the characters are very similar and in their own way flawed.

Starts with a big fire scene (not a spoiler) that then has you guessing all the way through who set it.......is it as simple as it appears? Watch and find out!

The Last Of The Mohicans [1957]

1957
Currently being shown on UK freeview channel 081 Talking Pictures TV everyday I think....

....if there are 39 episodes, I've probably seen them all, as a child aged 9 or 10 years old.....

The episodes I have revisited lately look to me clunky and very dated, but back at that time, I learned the names of Native Indian tribes like Iroquois and Mohican, so I took myself off to my local library, The Tate central library, in Brixton, south London and researched the many different tribes. My favourites became those bad boys.........Navajo, Apache and Comanche nations.....fabulous horsemen...

Mork & Mindy

1978 - 1982
Rated 10/10
If not the best show and my all time favourite, Robin Williams was a true comedian and in Mork & Mindy he showcased his skills of making people laugh, each episode was amazing and well planned out.

Though anything Robin Williams acted in was great work though this is his all time best show.

If you enjoy good crime drama such as Fargo and The Killing the this is one for you.

The acting is great, the story-lines compelling and the setting, the vast cold Canadian landscape is wonderful.

The series ran on NBC from 1978-1985; with the final season being on ABC. Also, the role of "Maggie" was taken over from Dixie Carter by Mary Ann Mobley when the series changed networks (as Carter had been cast in the equally successful "Designing Women" sitcom at that point).
